FIRST Global Innovation Award

You are proud of your Research Project and have found a great solution to a problem? Would you like to share your innovation with everyone and spread the word? Then the FIRST Global Innovation Award is just right for your team!

In this extraordinary season, ALL teams participating in a FIRST LEGO League Challenge Regional Competition are invited to apply for the FIRST Global Innovation Award.

Here's how you can participate:

  1. Name the problem you have identified and present your innovative project or solution to us – just as if you were presenting it to the jury at the tournament. Here's the info on the “Research” category.
  2. Describe/explain the problem and your solution on one DIN A4 page.
  3. If you have a sketch/photo of your innovative solution, you can attach it on one other DIN A 4 page.
  4. Send us this page(s) as a .pdf file
  5. Please write your team name, your team number and if applicable your school/institution on the page
  6. Please send your application via e-mail to kl@hands-on-technology.org.
  7. Deadline for submission is February 27, 2022.

An extra jury will select the five best Innovative Projects. The nominated teams will receive all further information from FIRST.

FIRST Championship - World Festival

Houston, Textas, USA  I  April 20–23, 2022

For this event there is one starting place each for FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams as well as for FIRST LEGO League Explore teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Who can participate:

All teams of a FIRST LEGO League regional competition are invited to apply for the World Festival.

And this is how you can participate:

  1. Create a video of max. 3 minutes length and answer the following questions: Who are you and what makes you special? Why do you want to participate in the World Festival?
  2. Please send your application (including team name, team number and, if applicable, school/institution) by e-mail to kl@hands-on-technology.org
  3. Deadline is February 20, 2022.

Open International Brazil - SESI FIRST LEGO League Challenge International Open

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil I August 05–07, 2022

There are a total of three entry spots for this event for FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Who can participate:

All teams from a FIRST LEGO League Challenge regional competition are invited to apply for the Brazil Open.

And this is how you can participate:

  1. Create a video of max. 3 minutes length and answer the following questions: Who are you and what makes you special? Why do you want to participate in the Brazil Open?
  2. Please send your application (including team name, team number and school/institution if applicable) by e-mail to kl@hands-on-technology.org
  3. Deadline for submission is March 06, 2022.

Participation fees:

  1. 200€ per coach (max. 2)/team member.
